Don't Give Up On Starting Exercising, Women!
Our culture makes starting exercising seem impossible. Don't buy into it!
It’s all BS.
Know that.
You can do it.
Media companies that get $$ from advertisers selling foods and everything else want you to put off starting exercising another day.
In my travels as an LC and LMT , with a focus on Women’s Massage (especially Postnatal and Prenatal Massage) in New Jersey, I encounter many, many women.
MANY women. OKay?!
So anyway, many women, at every phase of life, has this issue with starting exercising.
They want to start. They even think about it constantly!
They just joined the gym -or- they just bought new running shoes -or- they just cleaned out the home fitness studio again.
It’s just getting to the actual exercising is often of issue.
Why?!
It’s partly about beginning new (old) habits, and even better, mindful practices!
There’s more going on here.
Women feel like it just can’t be done, that exercising is an insurmountable impossibility.
And, there’s no way we can’t establish at least some connection between popular culture, including advertising and media, of all types, from entertainment to news.
The truth is, it’s as easy as starting doing anything else.
Even if you start by setting aside one minute to begin, that is good.
“Breaking the ice,” as it were, is important. Feel good that you have started! You overcame the feelings that culture pushes on us, especially women.
Getting back into an exercise routine, or starting a new one isn’t really a challenge.
You don’t need to spend money on a gym membership or expensive workout outfits. (You can if you choose to, though!)
You can do all kinds of exercises in your own bedroom, from yoga to calisthenics to lifting (light) weights.
You can run or cycle outdoors.
Just. Get. Moving.
That’s the key.
