First Time Pregnancy and Scared? That's Normal!
Don't Fee Embarrassed That You Are Feeling Frightened.
New experiences are exhilarating. Being scared is normal and not at all unusual.
Even if you meditate and are a serious yogini, you may feel scared. Even if you’re a woman-warrior and passed the bar, you may feel scared. Even if you feel you’re an average person, you may be scared.
If you aren’t, that’s wonderful.
But if you are, it’s understandable, a nearly-universal experience, my own time spent working with perinatal moms showed me.
Your body changes shape, your center of gravity changes, your hormones change, YOU change.
And, it’s not just bodily. It’s mental, emotional, and proprioceptive change! Alterations in identity and outward form happen. And finally, the Spirit changes, and hopefully you leave the experience having grown.
All that, and more, make pregnancy a brand new experience.
New experiences are invariably a nervous time. Remember the first day of kindergarten? Fifth grade? High school? University?
Pregnancy is worlds more of a novel experience than the first day of school, as thrilling as your first day of university was!
Experience your fear. Every woman fears for a different reason. It’s okay.
It’s valid to experience fear. Turn the experience into something positive.
